Auxiliary gas is essential in the cutting process of laser cutting machine! Among them, we often use oxygen and nitrogen. Of course, the higher the purity of the gas, the better the cutting quality will be. There are also many customers who want to save costs and use air cutting. However, there is always water mist on the protective lens during the cutting process, and the cutting quality is very poor. Why is this?
First, let me explain the role of auxiliary gas: to blow away the residual waste and achieve a good cutting effect. Use gas to blow away the metal slag while protecting the lens to prevent the slag from sticking to the lens and affecting the cutting quality. It can effectively achieve a smooth cutting surface without burrs or slag, which is a fine cutting. It can react with the material to increase the cutting speed, such as using oxygen to achieve a combustion-supporting effect.
Therefore, in order to achieve a better cutting effect, the requirements for auxiliary gas are relatively high! Although air can be used as auxiliary gas, since the air contains water and oil, if it is not treated, it will cause lens contamination, instability of the cutting head, and substandard cutting effect and quality. Therefore, when using air cutting, it is necessary to equip the fiber laser cutting machine with a cold dryer, which solves this problem very well. The cold dryer can force the compressed air to cool below the required dew point temperature, thereby condensing the large amount of water vapor and oil mist contained in it into droplets, which are discharged from the machine through the gas-liquid separation device to dry the compressed air.
